His Protar Alfa Romeo 179 thread is legendary!
I wanted to thank Atlantakat11 for the flattering words to my models.
It is a pleasure for me to share them with other modellers.
Greetings,

My guess is that the Matra may a perfect starting point as it will go together more like a WW II plane or armor than the latest F1 kits which do need a lot of carbon fibre masking and a perfect finish to look authentic.

Another starting point might be the other Ebbro historical kits in 1/20 -- the little F2 Brabham looks really sharp. The various Lotus 49s go together pretty well except for the front cowling which is too snug a fit over the radiator.
Funny that you mention the Lotus 49. I do have one in the stash.

Although, where to get the JPS logos? In the early '70's tobacco advertisements weren't banned yet on tracks, were they? SpotModel didn't have the decals in stock, last time I checked. To circumvent that, I ordered decals for the Gunston team.Image
Thanks for the heads-up on the cowling fit issue!
