Empty boxes - to keep or not to keep
Hi all,
I'm clearing some space in my stash, and am going through the boxes of completed projects. Cutting up the empty sprues to throw out and keeping any remaining model parts into the 'spares' box. All instructions are going into the 'just in case I need them' box.
Do you guys recycle/throw out the empty boxes or do you keep the boxes as well?

PS: a belated Merry Christmas to you all

Re: Empty boxes - to keep or not to keep
For too many years, I kept the empty boxes, but recently I purged big time, but cut-out and kept the box tops that had cool box art. Even the box that holds the cut out box art is pretty big!!!
I intend to frame the Tamiya Porsche 1/12 934 & 935 box tops. Those look great!
This is just one area I need to stop being a hoarder.

During a build, I cut up and throw out the sprues as the parts are removed, and extra parts go into the 'spares' box. Once completed, the box is thrown out and the instruction manual is filed for any future reference.

I'm glad it's not just me, this hobby has a habit of bringing out the same traits in everyone.
I break the sprues down as I build, these go in the bin. Unused parts into the spares box. Then when completed, the manual is kept and I'm another who cuts the sides off the box cover, keep the artwork and put the rest of the box into the recycling.

I cut out the box art and throw out the rest. Going to make a collage of some sort when I get a reasonable frame for it to go in.

keep....keep.....keep, everything for many years. Then I realized it's just waste and waste of space and threm everything away
But there are a few boxtoparts I will frame. For exalpme thew 1/8 Porsche RSR is amazing. Also the 1/12 Wolf and Honda Ra and Datsun safari are hanging on my wall

I throw away sprues and save unused parts. I scan smaller kit's box tops and instructions for all kits onto a dedicated hard drive. Save the box tops for larger kits and everything else goes.

Does anyone know if the (Tamiya especially) box art was ever available seperately? As in a poster or whatever? They are such timeless artworks that I wish I could have even larger versions.

I only keep unused parts and some spruces for spare.
As for boxes, I keep the tops that are beautiful. They are either cut or flattened to save space.

I've wondered that about Airfix aircraft kits. The box art is generally better than the kit.
