Well, there will be a tad of "overage" from the Gulf clean-up...........
It's about as likely to happen as USF1 being on the 2011 grid. Where's the $700+ million coming from to cover a 10 year contract? ($350M to build the circuit and $350M to pay Bernie for his fees over 10 years)
What is up with all these proposed F1 races. Last month it was Jersey City NJ then is was Bayonne NJ ,last week was Monticello NY , and this week Austin TX , Who`s next , we should start poll on what is the next city , I wold loke to see a Grand Prix in this country , but i have my doubts . Can`t see anyone spending that kind of money to build a track that might be taken away by mother nature .
Good luck to whoever .

There is no way anyone could do this without federal and/or state support. We're talking several 100 million dollars here. IMS tried to fund it privately and we all know how that went. Given the economy, I can't see the people of Texas supporting spending their (taxes) money on an idea that has a VERY small chance of being a profitable return on the money.
I am happy to see the return of the USGP and I, for one, am damn glad it didn't return to Indy.
Good luck Austin.

I am not sure what to make out of this announcement, it looks a bit rushed to me.. it is not clear where exactly this track will be build, no layout, no word on who will build it (although I am sure Tilke already booked a flight to the US ). I would love to see a successful GP in America but building a new track for hundreds of millions might be a bit risky if you ask me...
