Re: The 2012 Yee-Haw GP
I'm ready for a US Grand Prix again.
Here is probably a reason why Austin is the current city of choice:

Funny how all these things start to happen at once! I'm not gonna bet any money it's going to happen, but it seems like a good idea to me. Don't worry about if they can build it in time, there is not a shortage of labor or funding that can be scrounged up here in Texas. At least that's what has been the track record here so far. Just ask Jerry Jones!
Cheers!
Joseph

It's official, we are in for another worthless, cookie-cutter track from the Herm-mister.

Why do I get the feeling like this is some weird Donington/USF1 mashup?

Re: The 2012 Yee-Haw GP
Why all the negativity about it being in the south? I don't get that. As long as it's a good, flowing, WORTHWHILE track and the racing action is good, why the negativity? Really, it's mainly on F1 to change the rules up to get the cars competing with each other again.
The track needs to be something other than the Turkey/New N-ring/New Hockenheim/etc tracks that have NO character. Let the tracks have some SHARP curves that are taken at greater than 100mph and NO chicanes. That will get and keep people's attention.

Just a few new tidbits, apparently the site has already been secured, and permits granted for water and sewage.

"It is said to be in hilly countryside that has provided Tilke with a good starting point for a design."
Hopefully it will be a track with some nice elevation changes.

Read in Autosport that Tilke is designing the new track. Yawn. Wake me up when it's over.
