Re: (un)Official U.S.G.P. Poster
Bernie should well enough not repeat staging the race in the summer like he did at the Dallas GP back in 1984 (actually Addison, Texas a suburb of Dallas). Summer time racing will ensure low turnout and another early pullout from the US racing calendar schedule. Not to mention all those Europeans not used to our annual 100 degree farenheit summers. No problem for me but to some spectator from Sweden, good luck!
An article in our local paper mentioned the State of Texas had to put up 25 million US dollars as part of the financing for the GP race. Hmmm, where does that money go to?
I'll be there for the first race as Austin is only 85 miles north from San Antonio.
But let's see if it actually happens. Bernie looks more Brokeback Mountain than M@r!b*r* Man with that get up.

Lets hope that the oil in the gulf doesn`t come ashore in Texas , might have to use some of that money to clean up .

The 1984 Dallas GP was in Dallas, not Addison. The event was held in Fair Park. It was a proper street course, even the drivers liked the layout, just not the heat.
I was there, and I'll see you at the Austin GP! Let's hope.
The Dallas GP in Addison was Trans Am, later held on a street course around Reunion Arena.
Funny Picture, but Bernie should have dreadlocks and tattoos to fit in in Austin!
Cheers!

Whoops I stand corrected on where the race was held. I have a Kimberlys team guide book for the Brabham team for years '83 and '84. There is a photo of a BT53 at the Dallas GP referencing the track as difficult and hot.
If you wanted to depict Bernie in the Austin scene, then a tie dyed t-shirt with a marijuana joint in his mouth might be better. And yes, that is Travolta's body hangin' out at Gilleys.
