1978 Lotus 79 Canada GP - Jarier

Hi guys,

After almost 3 years, I finaly have finished this kit. This one has been a real nightmare for me and i almost threw it in the bin a few times. I think i got a preproduction kit, because a lot of the parts didn't fit. Thanks to a good friend of mine Alex Nahooy aka Jordan, i was able to finish this kit. Thanks for all the help my friend. It represents the pole position car from the 1978 Canadian GP, driven by J.P. Jarier. I used Tamiya TS14 and Gunze Topcoat. Decals are from the kit and aftermarket from Acustion. I also used the PE set from Hasegawa and air funnel mesh from MFH and some PE bolts and dzus fasteners. It's not my best work, but did the best i could considering the circomstances. I always like a 79 on this forum. The problems you had can't be seen, good work. I like that you made the £55 car. It is on my "to do list" but right now I'm doing Mario s ride from the same race. Which kit did you use for your build?

I used the Hasegawa kit. A real crap kit. The worst one i have build so far.

Looks great, Lesley! The added transaxle hoses, sanded tyres and seat belts all add to the realism. Great paint job, as usual, too. A 79 you can be proud of!

Funny, I was only looking at pictures of this very car in Motorsport Magazine yesterday. You've made a great job and if you hadn't said anything I doubt anyone would know you'd had issues. Great work.

You’ve done a very beautiful 79, it looks like the real car, amazing painting.

I have the Hasegawa kit and they give the choice between 2 types of rims, and I think for the Canadian GP it have to be the other one compare the one you have in your preproduction kit.

I always thought Jarier deserve to win this GP, anyway it gave the opportunity to Gilles Villeneuve to win at home
