Re: Tamiya Lotus 79-4 started
So the new coat of Alclad ended in disaster. The paint cracked. Trying to fix it was of no success so I will build this one "buttoned up" and start on another kit for an undressed car.
But that isn't all bad. Now I have a chance of improve some of the things I tried to do on that other car. Like the holes in the front of the cockpit. Much easier to do before the parts are added.
I tried another way of making the three holes behind the drivers neck. Three thin slices of plastic tube was glued in place.
Then they were drilled with a larger diameter leaving thin rings around the holes.
I have been moaning about the wrong shape of the Tamiya radiators. I did rebuild them forgetting to fix the shape. Now I corrected this using putty to get a rectangular shape of the radiator.

Not much to report.
Drilling lots of holes for cables and such. I also replaced the rivets on the side pods. Drilled holes and added plastic rods for the lower row of rivets.
The larger ones are etched round nuts from Top Studio.
