Maybe the real car up close shows it's shape combined with the awe factor of just seeing the thing. I always see giant wheel wells when looking at the models. They don't look so large in person. Plus the shadows in real life have more of an effect on curved shapes than a model. Perhaps a little pre-shading would work on the model

This was would be easily resolved if Hirosan would post his reference source, especially for that nose. I can't seem to find a pic with the centered opening on the upper lip of the main opening.

The P3s all had a single inlet centered above the radiator opening, while the cars built originally as P4s had two. Because it was converted from a P3, 0846 was the only P4 to have the single inlet and MFH have rendered that detail correctly.

This link shows no. 23 with center opening. Did Ferrari use P3 nose for '67 Daytona?

Yes one of the P3 noses with P4 headlights. The higher center of the nose on the P3 houses a windshield defog heater I think JG said in his Ferrarichat blog. They moved it on the 1967 season newly build P4's so that they could lower the nose even more.jaydar wrote:http://curve.folieo.com/ferrari-330-p4-8u0ks-m-en

Hi all,
I made some comparatives for the MFH Ferrari 330P4 Spider to try to understand what didn´t I like in the model. I get this....
Looking at the second - with the Devoider Blueprint, I try to align the general shape of the car and not the wheels. I would say that the general shape is ok, but the back cowl is a little bit longer and the rack of the car is tooooo big.
About the chassis.... wonderful
What do you think?
Best Regards.
João

Thanks for the analysis. I wonder if a little sand paper one could tweak the height of the rear quarter panels.

Nice job! I'm impressed that it's that close. Once must allow for a +/- mm or so. Plus it is possible that a slight difference in angle could also have an effect. If everything was perfect...we are looking at a tail 2-3 mm too long? I can live with that. I'm more concerned with the real MFH problem. Brittle decals
