F2001(another one)

Post by hquednau »

So I think I'll be able to get one more box of plastic of the shelf for the speedbuild. I know I'm the only one here who's never built the Tamiya F2001, so here goes. Totally OOB, just some spray paint, glue, and fill-in sponsor decals.

Yes, looking good. Good luck with the rest of the build and have a great time.
It's a pretty good kit, imho.

Btw, I haven't seen many builds of this kit. Mine isn't built yet, but I have big plans
for it. Amassed bunch of detail parts for it - S27 and SMS detail sets, PP axles, TopStudio
brakes and tobaco decals. Looking forward to the moment when I have skills to start full
detail build of it.

I'm farther along in the build than these pix are showing- it's been a while since I posted, but I'm still building.. I should make the 3 week extension D/L (wish my job had random extensions of 3-5 weeks..)

Starting to look like a whole car could come of this... I know it's only box-stock, but enjoy putting these together. Even though I am posting in speedbuild, this has taken me almost 5 weeks now.

Nice job so far.

Your last picture reminds me of one of the 'exploded' Ferrari shots with all the parts laid out. I've been thinking of doing that with a model and putting it in a 'frame'.

Tamiya has such a thing, but uses Ferrari street cars

Completed! took longer than the last few, for no particular reason. Far from perfect, but a pretty satisfying kit.

Fine, fine looking F2001.
You make it look good.
Seeing the super detailed kits here are always eye opening, and
somewhat intimidating at times.
But seeing such a nice out of the box build serves as an inspirational
reminder that we can all enjoy putting together a decent kit with
no less enjoyment and satisfaction.
The key is getting them built. Thanks again for sharing.

Built on!
