Wheels.... I couldn't bring myself to paint the Treasure Hunt turned wheels, so I'll keep these as spares and use the wheels off the destroyed BAR001. They are already black, so a quick layer of gloss over the existing OZ decals and we're ready to go.

Added white stripe around the edge - wasn't quite big enough so I had to use a small part of white decal. This was over the old OZ decals which also showed through.

Image

Blue OZ decals will cover this when it's all done. The Treasure Hunt tyres are shockers, far too square. So I used from F2000 (F2001?) tyres from Tamiya which were pre-printed. Simply sanded off the directional arrow and straight onto the wheel!

Barge boards are up next - scary!

Nice work on the wheels, I'm impressed how clean and straight you got white rings on, minre always look like there was alcohol involved :) .
I understand your point about the machined wheels, it broke my heart to paint the machined wheels on the Stewart :( .
Looking forward to seeing you get it all together and wrapped up.
Cheers,
Chris

Not much of a WIP - sorry guys. Pretty simple kit - the rear wing bits ended up being a pain and I've left off the barge boards as they don't really add too much to the kit and would probably have been uneven =)

20 days all up to complete this kit - it is a speed build after all!

Shown here with the BGP001, I'm not much of a Jenson Button fan but since I have both kits, it's nice to see what 9 years of development does to an F1 car. I rate this as my best finish even if the rear wing is a bit of a mess =)

yeah looks great !!! i'm with you about the bargeboards thing. They so strangely deigned sometimes, especially the way to glue them on the body with those always too smalle photoetch bit that you got more chance to ruin your work that place it correctly.
Great looking car ;)

Great job, Duke - you've finished a whole kit more quickly than I can do some wheels and wings on my FW16!
