2009 GROUP BUILD - Final Result
- - 2009 F1M GROUP BUILD : FINAL RESULT - -
Greetings all!
Wow, so the 2009 GB finally comes to a close. A big thanks to everyone who participated!
As you know I had high hopes to stage a competition/showcase of sorts at about this time, but due to lack of time and family hospital issues I hope you'll excuse me from doing this.
For the showcase I'd simply direct you to the 2009 GB sub-forum.
For the competition side of things, the podium spots belong to...
First Place : bossy122 (by far and away the most active builder!)
Second Place : ABSOLUTmodeling
Third Place : BigDuke
Number of Entrants : 19
I had to rely mostly on the entrants PMing me to let me know what stage they were at with the build so that I could calculate points, as it became too time consuming and challenging for me to follow every thread all the time on my own. If you feel that the order above should be shifted around due to something being incorrect just let me know.
- - FUTURE BUILD !!! - -
As with most GBs, this one started of with a bang and sort of fizzled a little at the end. To be expected I suppose, but I think there has to be a better way. So with that in mind, and providing everyone is happy for me to do so, I'd like to propose another type of GB I have in mind that's more time restricted, will have some cool random time elements built in to add the excitement (if that's the right word - perhaps "urgency" is better), and which I'd start in approximately two months. The start date of soon after Christmas will mean that some of you will be on holiday and have more time to spare, and also you may have scored some good kits for Christmas that you're keen to get started on straight away.
I know it's a bit cryptic at the moment, but does this appeal to anyone?
Please post here if you're keen, and if there's a decent response I'll put up the full details on November 27th (why that date...? Because it's my birthday... hehe - and I'm still figuring out the finer details).
Cheers all!
M

Thanks for starting this Mark - Bravo... A podium! nice - considering none of the cars are still in one piece! (is that a DQ?)

Wow! Last night my beloved Yankees win title #27 and today I win something! Sorry it went kinda Schumacher like, but I told you I could build a lot of crappy looking cars quickly!

Re: 2009 GROUP BUILD - Final Result
Congrats to the podium winners. I regret that I never got around to finishing my first entry, or made very much progress on my second - had a lot of personal issues this summer that kind of killed my enthusiasm. Trying to get back into it now, though. On the bright side, those personal issues mean I now have a lot more free time on my hands!

Re: 2009 GROUP BUILD - Final Result
Im really happy to be on the podium! How i hope that Ferrari can be on it more often... But anyway its really a pity that we cant have a final voting session to glance through all the finished work of all the group builders. Hopefully i can see more completed projects coming up in the threads.

Well done to all who participated, and congrats to the podium finishers .
It's somewhat of a modern miracle that I managed to finish the Brabham.....it kinda "ballooned" on me
I'm in for the next GB, bring it on!!
Cheers,
Chris

Evening all,
The details for the new "slightly different" GB will be put up soon - just a few things to sort out and I should have it posted over coming days.
Cheers,
M
