Re: GB 2009 : WIP Brabham BT46
Thanks for the comments guys. Seems my little "Adding a few details, nothing too overboard." build turned out a bit different than I was planning.
Should be all wrapped up before too long.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: GB 2009 : WIP Brabham BT46
Hello, it's me again.
A small update. I got the front chassis section completed, and the front shocks attached. When I decided to replace the shocks, I had to eliminate the blobs that were the front shock mounts on the original parts. I made new shock mounts using styrene rod, drilled out, painted then mounted to the shocks with thin wire. Amazingly it all ended up working out. And here is the current status of where I am. Not much left, mainly I have to get the G-Years painted on the tires. We'll see how that goes.......
Cheers,
Chris

Re: GB 2009 : WIP Brabham BT46
Hello All,
A bit more progress on the Brabham. I tackled the tire templates again, and had to strip them a couple times before getting it right. I think the white g-years were a little too bright white, so I dirtied them up a little bit and then sealed the sidewalls with some flat clear. I'm happy with the outcome. Finished the cokpit and mounted the rear wing. Just have to attached the wheels and mirrors and it's all done!!
Have a look, comments, recommendations and feedback always welcome.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris, Superb job, all that wiring and plumbing on the engine was worth the effort and really makes it say

Re: GB 2009 : WIP Brabham BT46
OK, final post for the weekend. Here is where I stand as of now. The body is complete, all bits attached and detailed. Chassis is waiting for one final set of fittings, which are on the way, then it's all done. Wheels can be attached thereafter. So, it's all done save for two (2) fittings. Oughtta be done this week, then into the cabinet.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: GB 2009 : WIP Brabham BT46- Complete!!!
Hello All,
Well, I managed to finish my Brabham Alfa Romeo BT46 for the GB2009!! Woohoo!! I honestly thought I'd never make it. This build started as an OOB and continuously added more and more detail, to the point that the upper half of the body doesn't seat completely now !! It's OK, I was planning to dsiplay with body off anyhow.
You all gave me a lot of help with references and advice, and it's much appreciated.
So, here it is. Hope you all enojy.
Cheers,
Chris
