Nice, but I wish Tamiya would upgrade or provide different versions. I have got 3 in storage so I don't need another one.

Hopefully, the rerelease of the Tamiya Lotus 72D will prompt MFH to rerelease their Lotus 72E transkit.

Is there any precedent for Tamiya ever upgrading one of their 1/12 F1 kits? I can't recall an example (apart from perhaps better decals) but I could be mistaken.

The Tyrrell 003 Monaco Version comes to mind. Also, there are 2 versions of the M23.

They have done several versions of the Caterham cars, and Datsun street and Safari versions.

They sometimes include PE on older kits when re-releasing them.

"They sometimes include PE on older kits when re-releasing them." Yes, but really poor PE, not Tamiya worthy imo.

Tamiya re-issues differ in 'add-ons' but only time i know they actually changed/corrected a sprue was M23 engine one.
Lately they add PE as said, and from time to time they add alu funnels. In early days cigarette logos were included, but they're long gone. Some re-issues come without Goodyear reference although usually tires keep Goodyear as raised lettering on side wall except for 89721 'black box' MP4/6 which shows all side wall detail but the Goodyear marks. The 1st issue of MS11 shows nr 5 on box top, which was later changed to nr 6. Decals dito.

Maybe there are others, but these spring to mind.
