I am fine with August. If it is good as I hope I plan on selling a fair number of 1/20th items to focus on 1/12th scale items.

So how come Beemax can afford to come out with something like this, while it's "financial suicide" for Tamiya?

And already start working on 2nd kit, without getting sales numbers from the first.
May be the owner is like Mr. Hiro and just makes decision to produce 1/12 kits, even for financial loss.
Or may be Beemax knows something about market, Tamiya does not.
Quite strange

I like what I see here, there was also a video I found that showed some more detail and some of the sprues or parts anyway. It is very impressive and I want one.

Or maybe Beemax has a privet investor who is paying for this to be made like Tamiya has done in the past with the Caterham series of releases and one of their Semi Assembled Ferrari Diecast models a few years ago.

Real easy to sit behind your computer screen and make assumptions! Why anyone here would question Tamiya marketing philosophy is beyond me. You really think that they don't do any research?? Maybe they just don't have the passion for F1 any longer because they continually get beat up on forums like this simply because someone doesn't like a choice of model that they made or some other BS reason.

Hi all,

Tamiya could be waiting in the wings to see how well these new 1:12 kits are received by the market.

Indeed, Tamiya may be the investor for Beemax's ventures into the 1:12 F1 market. Who knows?

Beemax has made an interesting choice of 1:12 kits to be released, especially as MFH have already done a few variations of both the 99T and the MP4/4 in the same scale.

Either way, I'm happy to see news of new 1:12 kits, irrespective of who releases them. I will certainly buy one of each once they become available.

Cheers, Paul
