I guess more than you realize. None of the Porsche kits say Porsche on them they are all designated only by the Chassis designation.tubegenius wrote:Have they ever done that before?allnie wrote:They do the kit without any name (except 312B3). Then it is up to the customer to figure out what that is.
I can live with that if alternative is NO car.

They sell kits without naming the brand name, like 936 1977 lemans winner, 126c2, 155TI...

Interesting. I haven't bothered to check, but wouldn't that mean, that "in theory" the kit prices for that horsey car brand should be lower now (for the non branded ones) than the older (branded) ones? I think we had a basic discussion on manufacturer's tithes in the past and they would be substantial, say an additional tenth on top? I always found that the supposedly Porker cars were significantly cheaper than the Ferrucios (oh what blasphemy to use that name for a Fez) with similar size and complexity, so that either had to be the fee in action or the fee plus an additional markup as that is a rather wealthy clientele, so why not? See 312PB (83.000 yen) vs 956 (70.000 yen) pricing for reference.Icon_Modeler wrote:I guess more than you realize. Pure English thing, car “brand name” is called “make”, I assume.... . Like, Toyota/Lexus is the make.scaleautofactory wrote:Just check the webpage: https://www.modelfactoryhiro.com/tubegenius wrote:Have they ever done that before?allnie wrote:They do the kit without any name (except 312B3). Deepl.com gives for "Automarkenname" both translations.
Should it car maker?????
Re: MFH 1/12 full-detail news 2021
Correct English: What’s the make of the car?
Not so correct English: What’s the brand of the car?
I was taught so in a good school in China when I was young.
Of course, not a big deal and it’s off target of this post topic, lol.

In context, "make" and "brand" are the same. Let's get back to deducing what kit is coming.

Brand is the copyright protected name of the product - it does no matter who make it. You have to pay licence fee to the brand owner when you use the brand name. Thats the reason why i.E. MFH in some cases not use the name of the car and provide only the type name like 908/03 or 126C2.
Litte example: iphone, imac are brand names from apple inc. and the products are make by third party companies...
Just my two cents off topic.
