I’m just jumping on board so I get to see the results when it’s announced.
Re: Beautiful New Tamiya Release Coming; What is it?
I’ll take a wild off the wall guess - a formula E car.
"Slow and Steady Wins the Race" - Who ever won a race with that strategy?

I would assume very soon, before Xmas? Wouldn’t make much sense to release in January.Badi wrote:when will this info be available?
I’d like a McLaren P1 or an F1 in 1/12.

Yep, Sean. But being Tamiya, I would not be too surprised if it doesn't make much sense!!SeanMAIN wrote: I would assume very soon, before Xmas? Wouldn’t make much sense to release in January.

Re: Beautiful New Tamiya Release Coming; What is it?
Well I'm the one who started this thread, and I've enjoyed catching up with everyone's 2 cents so far!
Some random thoughts/responses:
I actually think a 1/32 aircraft kit is highly possible, and if that's what it is, it will be the Bf-109G6 with all the tooling done recently in both 1/72 and 1/48...there must be some work there that they can benefit from on a 1/32 release. They also owe us a German aircraft in that series after giving us Japanese, British, and American.
I do not think it will be something like a 1/24 Porsche 911 turbo. I just don't think Andy would get excited about that the way he seems to be.
It could be a ship! They haven't done a new ship in a long time and maybe they decided its time for that; I can see Andy being surprised and impressed by some really well done 1/350 effort, even if that's not totally his go-to subject matter. He does try to mix it up and tries to build in a wide variety of genres.
As an aside, most folks here (sadly) make the assumption that a 1/12 car kit is almost an impossibility. I tend to agree, but why? Does anyone know hard numbers about this? Were the 1990 Ferrari, 1991 McLaren, and 1992 Williams huge financial disasters for Tamiya?
I am biased, but having built all 3, I would say they are some of the most fun in modeling I've ever had! Such wonderful kits and great display subjects. Why don't people buy them, assuming they don't? Too expensive?
I still think this kit has to be something pretty special for Andy to hype it up in this manner.
I think we will get the news in a video soon. Probably before Christmas.

I would likely see another F1 car, but a ME 262 or the Horton in 1:32 would also be stunning! But the Horton should be out, Zokai Mura did a more then perfect job on this in 1:48 and 1:32....
Take a stand!
