Low temp soldering

Post by pbrowne »

What would be recommendations for low temp soldering? This is for MFH white metal.

I have read that 70C solder is recommended being below the melting point of white metal, but that would depend on the metal composition.

I have also read that 100C solder is better, as it flows better, forms less crud and produces a stronger join:

Suggestions either way and brands? What about flux?

I'm using a Hakko FX 888D (50C to 480C selectable).

Thanks,
