Airbrush for large areas
In anticipation of starting the MFH Ferrari 335S can someone recommend an airbrush for covering large areas, like bodywork? I use an Iwata which is fine for most work, even F1 body panels which tend to be small but the 335S body is really large in area.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Airbrush for large areas
I just finished my MFH 335S (1:12). Started painting the body with the Eclipse but I found it hard to get the paint smooth. So, I bought a new LPH80 and it was great. It was easy to use, but you have fool around with it just make sure the paint, volume and air amounts are correct. I’m quite certain that any bubbles are for my technique. Good luck...it’s a gorgeous car!

Re: Airbrush for large areas
Thanks for the suggestion but I'd rather not spend $300 for a gun. Are there any alternatives?

That is an issue...
Re: Airbrush for large areas
I don`t know if there is no spare needle and nozzle available for the iwata, i use a Badger and can change needle and nozzle size, have 3 different sizes for it. Have an Aztek as well where i can put in different needle and nozzle sizes.
Take a stand!

Re: Airbrush for large areas
I would recoomend something like this:
https://www.dickblick.com/products/paas ... -airbrush/
This is already the second one I have. Works with different nozzles, you can use cup or glas jar and it's very easy to clean...

Re: Airbrush for large areas
So the specs say with the H-5 it'll spray a 2 1/2 inch pattern. Is that your experience? What air pressure? Beats $200 or $300.

Re: Airbrush for large areas
Sorry I have no idea what a spray pattern is...but since you can change nozzles or buy with different there can't be one pattern !? I spray at around 1.5-2 bar like with every other airbrush..that around 25 psi !?

pretty much everything you can see in my signature was painted with that brush with 0.3 or 0.5 mm nozzles
