thanks fellas,
the wheel stripes aren't really a problem - - just a decal which is actually very easy to apply and get right.
i think i have one other kit with with an all PE undertray.i'm not sure how i feel about it yet. if you look at the body, part of it will need to be painted black and should actually be part of the tray - - this will mean there will be a seam where there really shouldn't be. also the assembly of the curvy bits was tricky and i had to solder them together (something i've never been really good at). kind of a cool/fun exercise though.
i'll post some more pics after the weekend.

another small update. the major decals are on and had a bit of a fit problem where they marry up in front of the side pods. i'll stop short of calling it a disaster but it will require a bit of work to fix it up. i'll have to mask an paint some areas. this will take some time. anyway, could have been a lot worse.

Re: Mr.Grumpy: Benetton B194 (2008 Group Build)
a small update:
completed the rear wing. a pretty tricky one to get right. 14 PE pieces (three of them that needed bending), 12 decals, and 4 different paint colours. and just for a laugh, i assembled it twice! (i dropped it just after i assembled it the first time). i used the help of a beautiful little tool i picked up from paul at little cars (shown in the last pic). the great big hole the the upright is for the camera.
unfortunately, i'm not at all happy with how the body has turned out and will probably start again so it may be a while before another update.
and gooch, yes, the body is park green. sorry, i missed your post.

Impressive looking rear wing. Especially considering this is 1/43.
And also nice to see someone posting in the Group Build section. It's a bit quiet here. But i guess that's just the holiday season...
