Very cool.
This must be one of the earliest races for the 250F?
Has to be one of the most beautiful F1 cars ever !! I never knew it raced in BRG and will be very curious to see how it looks.
BTW - I presume you'll post photos in due course, so my curiosity is getting ahead of things, but I was wondering was the Renaissance kit is like? I have the SRC version and its a very nicely detailed, but somewhat simple, kit. I'm always interested in comparisons when two companies kit the same car.
cheers,
michael

Michael,
As Ian is probably out twisting peoples arm to buy new cars at the moment, I'll give you a quick reply.
The renaidssance kit is curbside, has a resin, rather than white metal body.
Aa reasonable amount of photoetch detailing for interior, suspension and the front grill.
The brakes from memory have a lot more detail than the SRC kit.
I'm sure Ian will be posting a photo of the parts layout before he starts.
Link to the renaissance stock picture of the model; http://www.renaissance-models.com/1-43/43_29.htm
Both can be built as nice representations of the car, the SRC may need a few details adding to bring it up to spec.

Moss' car was chassis 2508. delivered in 1954. (The first 5 250F chassis were upgraded A6 models). Interestingly the car was entered as Silverstone as a private entry in July 1954. Subsequently Maserati was so impressed with Moss' performance that he was offered a works drive for the German GP at the Ting in August 1954. Apparently the car was then repainted red. As the Aintree GP race was in October 2004, for the Renaiissance model to be correct, the paint shop must have had a busy time.SAABoy wrote:Yup Group Build, 1953ish I think
