McLaren MCL35M Steering Wheel 1/4

Some of you must have read it. In the last two weeks I've been a bit more concerned with a different scaling... namely 1/4. :D

And also with a previously unknown type of model - steering wheels.

I found a model maker on Twitter who offers current F1 steering wheels as kits in the mentioned scale - PhylModel.

I liked them so much that I really wanted to build at least one of them.
It didn't just stop at buying one, but I started building one first. :lol:

Currently there are these models:
- MCL35M 2021
- W11 2020
- A521 2021
- RB16B 2021
- SF70H 2017

It's kind of a mix of 3D printing and resin casting.
The quality and surface of the parts is awesome I would say. So these are really great kits.
Included are always the decals, which can also be processed very well. No screen printing, but the carbon is also included and therefore a really great overall package.
It is delivered in a great tin box... what a feast for the eyes!

I won't lose too many words about the work itself. If you have any questions, just post.
I then designed a stand for the presentation and made it myself using 3D printing. Then it had to be a small showcase and I designed a type plate and had it lasered.

It’s very interesting with 3d modelling/printing. Almost like it’s given the market a new life, so many small low volume producers out there with innovative new kits / detail parts it’s great

I feel a bit like a kid in a sweet shop thinking what to build next.. mid way through builds finding new details constantly coming out. Recently saw on SpotModel’s email the Lancia delta engine detail kits, look fantastic (but can you really go 1 24 when italeri’s 1 / 12 is available for not too much)

Will take some pics of the kmp mclaren f1 gtr wheels, look great and look like they will certainly make a massive improvement over stock
