Don't underestimate yourself! Your work on the pipes are good.
I learn a lot of my building skill by creating paper models. It is cheap and easy to try. For simple surfaces, paper and plastic sheets behave the same. For some of my scratch builds, I try them out in paper first and then use the paper design as template for plastic sheets.

Nice build, I looked longtime for the 023 because it has beautiful livery but couldn't find it anywhere. Yours is very nice considering the rough landing on the floor!
