Very cool pairing. I can't help but think, that yellow version must have made people think they had a busted picture tube back in the day.
I remember watching CDN GP at some friends home back in 1996. They warned the red color of the tv was off. Though Schumi had a quite brief race there was time enough to see with amazement his Ferrari was elegantly black!!
Wow nice models Rich, you can be really proud of them
Thanks for your kind comments everyone. To answer the two questions: yes, I did sand off the raised chevron markings because they were obviously going to make a clean masking difficult. I mixed the yellow to get close to the MotoGuzzi yellow that McLaren used on the car. But I also had an eye on matching the decals supplied with the kit, since I had to use the number2 on the nose and cut down the squares to chevrons next to the Marlboros on the cockpit sides and the back of the rear wing. The colour was essentially Fiat Broom Yellow and Zero paints Chrome Yellow in a mix of 4:1. I would have liked a 'cleaner' golden yellow, but i think we got quite close. Yellows are SO difficult. So many are 'dirty' like mustard or too creamy with white or too lemony with green hue.
