OSELLA FA1I (Tameo 1/43)
Finally got this done after starting it ages ago.
This is my third 1/43 kit completed and quite happy to have an Osella which raced in 1987 with Alex Caffi.
It's quite hard if not impossible to find reference photos of this particular version because Osella ran an endless strike of models and liveries in 1987.
As far as I know this "STIEVANI" livery ran in the last 3 races of 1987 with Caffi, Mexico, Japan and Australia.
The build was quite pleasant, the usual problems with soft suspension arms which are not photoetched and the tedious "Goodyear" logos on tyres, there is no way to stick them properly to the rubber, even after using some white glue. After taking the pictures you can see below, one logo fell off the tyre and is now gone! I will buy a set of GY decals to make up for the lack of the other four GY+Eagle decals for the inside of the tyres, Tameo only supplies 4 sets of Goodyear+Eagle, only enough for the outside of they tyres.
The blue I used is from rattle can which I got it made from local hardware store according to the colour instructions from Tameo, FIAT 007 BLU SAVIEM.
Some decals were quite brittle and broke into few pieces and it was a sweaty job to put all the pieces back together.
Pretty much OOB except for added seat belts which were not included and the gear lever which I made with some metal rods in my spares box.

Thats a cracker! Love it
Its always great to see these 'unloved' cars.
I have no intention in creating a conversation - its been covered many times elsewhere here - but its a shame we will never see any of the mainstream kit manufacturers take a risk and kit something like this.
Cheers Tim

Nice job and awesome to see builds of the smaller less successful teams.
Re: OSELLA FA1I (Tameo 1/43)
Well done!
It would be great if Tameo would do a re release of their early kits but with their actuall technology, i know the casted rear wings and suspension parts and they need a lot of work to bring the model to nowadays level.
Just to put in an idea if Luca is reading this.............
