1992 Brabham BT60B, early version (1/20 Wolf Models).

Post by KB78 »

Hello everyone, Happy Easter!

I've finally found a bit of time to finish this project. I've always liked the simplicity of the Livery & the slighly angular look of the Monocoque when viewed head on.

Out of the Box, I found some of the details lacked definition but it's nothing a little Putty didn't fix. I scratch built the Radiators & the Cockpit due to my having thinned

the Monocoque Walls, I also bored out the Airbox & opened up the Radiator outlets. It's been Painted with Zero paints & detailed with an MFH 6 Point Harness & Floor

support Wire Kit for the front Wing struts. Tamiya Carbon Decal gives a lovely Satin look to the appropriate area's.

It was only after finishing that I realised neither Amati nor Hill even managed to qualify it whilst wearing this two tone livery, it wasn't until the (much faster  ) Pink Paint

was applied that it snuck into a Grand Prix.

Great build, certainly a car that looked much faster than it was :)

Was this the Yamaha V12 version? Great looker these last Brabhams, especially with their lack of advertisements(!)

Yamaha departed Brabham for Jordan at the end of 1991. This left Brabham to run customer Judd V10's for '92.

This arrangement didn't really appear to help Jordan very much & it certainly didn't help Brabham either!

Very nice, I like the added details such as the support wires for the front wing and you look to have made a tidy job of the windshield too. Impressive work.

Hi everyone!

Many thanks for your kind words, I'm really pleased that you like it! The Windshield took a long time to get right, lots of tweaking, sanding, wet & dry Paper, on & on!

But I knew that such a large component in such a prominent place HAD! to be correct, it had the ability to make or break the whole project, thankfully it worked out OK. :)

As you can see, there were also many, many! Body fastener/ Rivet Head details, I think I'll go mad if I see another one anytime soon!
