It turned out great and shows that it is definitely not worth disposing of old kits and instead investing a little time (more or less  ) and bringing a great kit to new life.

But now it's more than a shame for a drawer! :D

Congratulations Mayzen,
excellent restoration and nice paint job (perhaps a little too "red")
Congratulations, great achievement.

Great, great job my friend. And absolute YES for the old model restoration trend. Even if a newer/not expensive exists. Models do have their soul ;-)
Sorry to point I also agree with GDLR about bthe color. It was as fluo as the McLarens. Nevertheless I suppose that live the TS49 looks better.

Hi James, The photos have made the TS 49 looks redder than it actually is. I took them under natural & artificial lights to check out the color balance of the camera. The other way is to tweak the colour balance with software to get it back to its “orangey” look.
I’ve tested TS36 & TS49 on a couple of plastic spoons & decided on TS 49. I was using rattle cans then & couldn’t mix the 2 colours. The flo red TS 36 turns a deep red after 2 coats. However, hoping for the best I still proceed to use TS36 on my MP4/6. This has kind of ruin my MP4/6 restoration, which I’ll post here once I got the rear wings conversion sorted out.

Cheers
