Today was a killer day, lots done and am getting pretty close to completion
The resin mirrors that I cast (first time deal for me) turned out pretty decent as aluminum looking pieces. Painted with the el cheapo Rust O Leum metallic silver paint.

Installed

More pinning, sample of lots of work. Look how nice the springs look after so many years, crazy.

Rear suspension installed. Note to other builders, the upper radius rod touches the intake trumpets on both side. No big deal with new parts, but my rebuilt goodies snapped on one side, so I glued the part in place on the gray mount. As it is, I think I will cement all the suspension in place therefore it won’t work. No big deal as long as it looks cool.

So I installed the oil tanks, pretty easy and straightforward…

And here the tie rod links are installed. Hard to tell which one is resin and which is OEM Tamiya.

Re: I Checked in to Rehab - Ferrari 312B
The road to completion wasn’t too hard however a marathon weekend of details was in order.
Sunday was Mario’s 81st Birthday, so a little present was in order….
Rear end required a lot of fiddling round to get the exhaust pipes and those hangers in place. I had to re-drill different holes in the oil tanks for the mounts, and grow a third hand to get them glued in place with CA. Turned out OK though

Details of the exhaust and suspension in the next few shots for the record.

https://i.postimg.cc/ydXfWcYy/IMG_4702.jpg
And the front as well
https://i.postimg.cc/9FXkR89R/IMG_4696.jpg
Let’s put the tires on the car…. Used a thin sharpie type marker for the tires. I refrained from adding the gold stripe due to quality concerns, and also, an important detail, there is no demarcation on the front tires for this gold stripe. Maybe if I had a lathe and the tire was really true would I have pulled it off….

Again, I elected to use the original rims without cleanup because I like the patina on these….

Rear wing installation was critical to get right and *LOOKING* level. As you can see the left rear wicker holes were off, so had to cheat the look a bit to get it right…dirty little secrets…

So here is the look before decal application

Decals went on without much drama. Light solvaset was all that was needed.

The next installment will be the finished model…..

Re: I Checked in to Rehab - Ferrari 312B
Here is the completed model.
I still need to source a smaller Champion decal for the right front of the cockpit cowling. And at the back It appears I need to fabricate the little twirly thing at the back of the gearbox that went missing…
It now sits in the model case with my other 1/12 cars and the “little ones”.
Enjoy

Oops! Looks like I need to adjust those oil cooler ducts or that rear wing just a little bit, either they are cattywampus or they were installed on a Friday after ahem, "Lunch".

It looks stunning. Think it's about time I start mine which is still new in box after my 4 restoration projects.
Cheers
