Did you printed from Shapeways or from a different source? How much it costs to print a 1/20 model like yours?
Congratulations with the result!
I would like to know how much efforts needed to polish models printed by Shapeways, I think in resin.

I did some gadgets with Shapeways in nylon, very impressive but nylon is not for model.

I know prints from Shapeways from the past.
Very rough printed on the outside.
Lotus-C-01-012.jpg
It needed a lot of filler primer and sanding.
Again, not suitable for this scale 1/20.
The front and rear wing are very fragile.

Hi Kars,

Good save on the decal silvering issue.

One thing that I learn from military modellers is that the matt color coats have to be over coated with gloss clear before decal. After putting on decals, re-coat the model with clear matt coat.

The matt color surface is too rough for the decal glue to pull the decal completely to the surface. Hence silvering occurs.

Fantastic Model! I guess we will see a lot more models made from printed parts in future.
Thanks a lot for that link to thingiverse!

Good to see, you solved that decal problem. Maybe you take some new pictures of your Red-Bull? It should look very much improved now. 8)

smooth fine detail plastic should be resin
SLS is "flexible strong plastic"

I think this one is SLS, of coz not suitable for modeling
But in Shapeways there are resin.

But in Shapeways there are resin, a see lot's of train builder for HO (1:87) and N (1:160) scales.

I don't know all the differences between all those types of print materials.
This one was pretty smooth and hard. Nothing flexible.
