Williams FW24 white - pearl or plain?
Hi All, I'm getting ready to build my first Tamiya F1 kit. My question appears simple but for the life of me I cannot get a straight answer. Is the white on the FW24 a pearl white or just a standard white? Here is why I ask. Tamiya calls for their TS-26 Pure White. Gravity Colors - Spain sells a Pearl White and states that it is the white used by Williams from 2000-2005. I saw that the car on the bottle label was not the FW24. I'm not sure if that is significant or not. I sure would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks!

I have always thought of it as plain white.

I talk from memory, but those days the F1racing magazine usually had close and big pics of the Williams. I never noticed earl effect, and that's quite visible in those conditions...

I have the Gravity colors paint at my house and will check it next week when I'm back home. I believe the pearl is very light pearl if it is pearl. Some of Gravity colors names are a bit different from what you'd expect. I had bought a bunch of a color that was called "Pure White", thinking its super bright white and they reached out as they could tell it wasn't what I wanted and switched the order for me to a different color that was what I was looking for.

And to follow up, even though its not necessary. Gravity Colors BMW Pearl White is not a pearl, just like the VW Pure White isn't a generic white.

Hmmm, I had no idea. I wonder why in the world they would call it Pearl? Could it be that that is the shade of white it is vs. being pearlescent? I haven’t actually opened it yet so I can’t say for sure. Right on their website it says that this is what the Williams’ cars ran between 2000 and 2005.

I think its just a mistake. The blue is a pearl, and I think they maybe they just brought over the name and then never changed it when it wasn't a pearl.NachoZ wrote: ↑Fri Aug 20, 2021 4:30 pmHmmm, I had no idea.
