Thank you, I appreciate your comments. I really enjoy masking and creating complex liveries such as this, it's all about planning and preparation.

Back to an update on this car, I got this work done over the last few months but only just getting around to an update. The car is very, very nearly finished and I will give a full report when I'm thru.
Here I tried to replicate the textured finish using microballons. I painted the seat with Tamiya red and then bathed it in a container full of microballons. After a short while to dry I tapped off the excess. I then sprayed it again with Tamiya red. Happy with the result on the seat, wheel and headrest. Whatever isn't red in the cockpit is covered in carbon fibre decals. The seat belts are a standard Tamiya aftermarket set.
Happy with the results here.

I tried to represent the bracing struts from the body to the vortex generators and endplates using plastic stock. It can be seen applied in white and then painted black. Very tricky area to do correctly but it's worked out ok.
You can also see the chassis prior to adding the body. As you can see I've done minimal engine detail as I don't intend removing the cover once it's on. Classic Tamiya fit, bodywork just clipped into place. Amazing.
The mirrors are attached and have a good mirror like surface using some mirrored adhesive decal from a Harry potter Lego set. I'll try and get a better picture of the mirror effect.
The wind deflector in front of the cockpit is covered in Carbon Fibre decal and sets the front of the car off nicely.
I have sprayed the yellow rims on the wheels and the tyre lettering using a stencil. I added the sidewall marking with a permanent marker.
Next step is add the pitot tubes on the front scuttle and add the aerial on the nose and alongside the driver. After that it is just left to add the tyres/wheels and call it done. Hopefully I'll get this done over the next few days and get some pictures up.
Hope you liked seeing my progress on the Lotus, I'm very happy with the result I've achieved. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
