Hi Martin,
Some great attention to detail there, nice to see correctly coloured wheel nuts!
Looks like Pauls F1Modlz site has gone down, do you know what happened?

Hi Malc
Nice that you like my work. I didn't know that Paul's page crashed. I haven't spoken to him for a long time. I found out on FB that he was taking a break. I can't say if that has anything to do with it. I picked up some stuff for my Williams from Paul as he is doing a great job. Unfortunately, I'm not quite back from my break, so this was only a small step forward. I also have to apologize for the cellphone pics. I'll do better next time. greetings Martin

Hello Wastegat!
I also had trouble with shrinking at first. But it is very simple. I take a tealight, they have a smaller flame than a lighter. If I need to make a thin line, I hold one end in each hand and hold the shrink tubing about 5-7cm above the flame. Back and forth so that the whole length becomes soft and sags slightly. Then move away from the flame and gently pull on both ends until you get the diameter you need. But I also often use normal cables instead of shrink tubing. If you have to shrink several cables into one, I use a soldering iron instead of a flame. It takes some practice, but once you get the hang of it, it works quite well. Top-Studio offers the heat-shrink tubing in different colors and strengths in a 2m roll. If you have any further questions or need help, just get in touch. How far are you with your Williams and are there pictures of it!

I mainly use drill bits to achieve the desiered diameter i need. for multiple conections i use a larger diameter and shrink it once it is assembled.
I have a good bunch of different diameter in stock, you find them at low prices in any electronic store if needed. ;)

Can i hijack this thread for a moment?
Which of these Top-Studio detail kits are a must have?
I mean I would build it and would like to have some extra details, but only for parts that can be seen easily.
Which set is a must have?
Just bought the Williams fw14 and the Ferrari 641 through eBay.
Think i read that there will be a Ferrari detail set also in the making. Right?

Any McLaren Mp 4/6 for sale at the moment?

To me all detail sets are a must have! :D
Not sure what parts you mean with "can be seen easily", do you plan to build it without cowl? If so you don`t need engine set or radiator set etc.
Here is a link to the Top Studio website where you can see which sets are available, only the inlet stacks are missing but there is also a set of metal turned inlet stacks produced.

You also need to make a choice between RS3 and RS4 engine which are different, RS4 was mainly used in quali in the beginning of the season and appeared to the common engine in Hungary i guess to remember.

About the Ferrari set, i asked Mr Tang if they plan to do such set in future and he told me they would do one, this was somewhere when the Mclaren set came to life, so a few years back. Now after the Williams is done, i hope the Ferrari will be next.

Und PM übrigens ;)
