Footwork FA13 Modellers
Started my new project last week, the Modellers FA13. What a nice kit!! I decided for once to not make a curbside. The kit i bought also had some after marked detail parts in the box (white metal piping etc..) so it will be a shame to hide them. Hopefully it will turn out nice.
I used Tamiya white primer, Zero (FW14) white and decanted rattle can, automotive, fluo red (sprayed over normal red to tone down the fluo a little bit).
After some "study".. I decided it was not really like the mclaren RAL3026 fluo red but also definitly not plain normal red.. happy with the result so far.
Pretty easy livery. Decals are original kit ones and worked fine.
Will be continued

Very pretty start
I think you are right on the color, it looks very convincing.

May not have been a very good car, but your build is. Really nice work.
I forgot how much I liked this car/livery.

Re: Footwork FA13 Modellers
The paintwork of the engine turned out really good.
The lettering is nice and clean and is recognizable in the smallest detail!

Nice work but the original paint was not a Flouro red, simply bright red.
Looks a bit overdone with the flouro, i would tone it down a bit more.

Take a stand!

Re: Footwork FA13 Modellers
Have to say it looks way more fluo on this pics than it is with naked eye.
I leave it as is., with a few weeks of UV it wil fade a bit more.

Re: Footwork FA13 Modellers
..btw i based my color choice more or less on this picture.
Looks somewhat in between a bright (ferrari) red and mcL fluo. First i painted it "TS49" from Zero, but it looked very off, to cherry red look.
Well like how it is now.

Re: Footwork FA13 Modellers
You have started last week. And already it looks like you are just a few days away from the final assembly.
I guess this thread won't last long...
And having stood in front of a real FA13 I don't think the color is too far away from reality:
