@CK
Thank you very much for your drawing, that´s a helpful addition!

@Denbo
Thank´s a lot for your offer, but I will stick to the Tamiya kit as a reference. I made a very tiny Excel which converts the 1:20 measurements to 1:24.
I even thought about buying the wave kit, but judging by the pictures I´ve seen, at least the nose looked to short for me.

I find my drawing for 191 in 1/24th scale. It is a clean up of the Tamiya drawing.

Print it to A4 size (8.5"x11") with a 0.5" margin all around will gives you a drawing in 1/24 scale.

While the monocoque isn´t really finished, yet, I thought about the model being curbside or not.
The 192 kit has the 12 cylinder Yamaha and the 191 had the Ford HB, which is nicely replicated in the Tamiya kit.
So with the Tamiya parts at hand and in the right mood for some scratch-building, I thought I should give it a try.
If it works out satisfying, it will have an engine, if not it will be curbside.... :mrgreen:

I took some sheet in various thicknesses and started with the oil sump.

Together in 75° I believe it was... :?

Still not finished, but I even managed to give it some more detail at the front, where Tamiya couldn´t, due to molding reasons, I guess. :) Here´s a little size comparison.

It looks simple from your pictures. I know it is not. :D

It is a very nice engine in 1/24!

Thought about how to make the valve covers. My scratch-building skills surely come to an end when I look at the badges on top of the HB.
PE parts would have been a way to go, but I´ve never done that before and it seemed too much work and too expensive for a one off.
My first plan was to build the covers from sheet and 3d print the Ford and F1 logos. A friend who is much more experienced with CAD made the first design for me.
Unfortunately Shapeways complained about the connecting sprues being to thin. The badges themselves were way to small to make the sprues bigger, because cleaning up the logos would have been too much work.

In the end, I drew the complete covers. Shapeways was still warning some details would be too small for a successful printing result, but I was fed up with improving the drawing, as I had already done it a dozen times (too small, not manifold,... bla, bla!).

Fingers crossed, the result will be nice enough regardless.
