Model Factory Hiro, Toleman TG 184, 1/12

Post by daniel »

Hi...the Toleman will be my next/current build. This will be my first 1/12 MFH and so far it looks like an easy kit.
One thing I try to fiddle out how to mate the lower/upper monocoque halves, paint/decal it and squeeze parts into it. The idea is to build the inside and later add the upper halve with a visible seam....don't like it :)
Will post pictures later. Of course I also will do some 3Dprinting and add as much detail as possible.

I have two questions. Can someone scan the metal decals for me that are attached over the rear monocoque...it's missing in my kit but would have replaced it anyway but the measurmeents would be nice.

And.....does someone have a picture of the cockpit with Senna's seat visible ? :)

Also looking for some transparent tube of around 0.6-7-8mm I have 0.5 that looks a little small and my other sizes are to large and stiff. Some "floppy" tube would be nice

...stay tuned for more

Does it have to be clear tube, or is semi transparent enough?

Thanks for the link to the tube...will order some.

Thanks for the picutres, already found these but the seat is always missing :) ...and I think the "taped" seat was from a later driver/ownder but I guess I will go for something similar.

The taped seat was typical of the time
Senna at Zandvoort
1984 08 26 Zandvoort Holland 04.jpg
Cecottos car after his accident at Brands Hatch
1984 07 22 Brands Hatch UK 15 - Copy.jpg
If you PM me your mail address I can send you a bigger copy of the second pic.

Here weg to to a slow start....at the beginning I usally work and every part tryign the fitment, looking how to improve and just clean and fiddle around...

Just started the engine becasaue that lookes fairly easy. Nothing special so far, jujst added some bolts and blasted some parts. Now I need to design some 3D parts and wait for the clear tube to keep going.

Let's start with the difficult part the monocoque. As you can see I removed the base for the fire extinguisher so I can slide in the frame for the dash easily. Plan is to build the inside, cover everything with CF. Then attach top/bottom part and paint and decal from the outside and slide all parts like dash and seats in the monocoque
