Yes, it is slowly becoming less and less original kit, but more and more original carGF-F1 wrote:Hello Thomas,
Is it still have original plastic part from the Kawai kit on you Fw09? What amount of work!
Well that will be difficult with the helmet, but there will be another little gimmick that will belong to the GP and Keke.Jeff wrote:Great work on the car Thomas, the Keke figure looks good too, don't forget his cigarette
Maybe you noticed the earplugs Keke always wore on his overalls...
And thanks for the nice words guys.

Re: WILLIAMS FW09 Dallas winner KAWAI+some more...
So after I was still busy with the decals before Christmas, I'm currently waiting for the delivery for Keke as well.
I also noticed an error on the chassis, but currently I don't really feel like correcting it...
So I continued on another project - I'll just say Senna and Prost
I also had contact with Franck and therefore Keke is on hold for the time being. But I don't want to reveal anything here.
So today I continued to work on another construction site - under the hood - the transmission and rear suspension also want to be finished at some point.
So first cut the old suspension apart, picked out the right springs, made new connecting pieces from rod and inserted a middle piece from brass (maybe I'll swap it for steel so I don't have to paint it). The sprue points and the burr removed. The mounting points for the steering knuckles are wrong anyway, so I cut them off and drilled a few holes for them to be able to represent them correctly later. So basically not much, but just right for a new start after Christmas!

Re: WILLIAMS FW09 Dallas winner KAWAI+some more...
So it goes on with the gearbox and the drive shaft.
In the area of the top of the gearbox I am missing a part from the kit of the FW07 (kit part D10) - I would think it is a stabilizer. So I had to recreate it.
So said and done - a little construction work and then get it out of the printer.
When I was finished, however, I studied a few pictures again and noticed that the stabilizer that was missing in both the kit for the FW07 and the FW09 is wrong.
So all over again!
I made all parts separately and can put it together and align it accordingly later after painting.
So far I am satisfied with both parts - whoever someone needs the D10 from the kit like me - I have it there and it also fit 1: 1 on the first try perfectly...
Now that this was done, I continued a little further down the drive shaft.
I had already printed the gearbox side cover.
In my opinion, the recordings for the shaft itself cannot be used from the FW07 or the FW11.
The FW07 have a rubber bellows - the FW09 is already completely made of metal.
And the ones from the FW11 are a bit inadequate.
So build something here yourself ...
That would be the result. I added a few more screws with washers from MasterClub.
Again, everything is so that you can assemble it after painting.
Don't be surprised, the pictures are from the 1st attempt. I easily destroyed the parts while re-drilling.

Re: WILLIAMS FW09 Dallas winner KAWAI+some more...
Today I adjusted a few parts of the FW07.
I needed the two ignition coils, these have to be connected to the ECU on the gearbox of the FW09.
So I disconnected these from the distributor and the alternator.
Then the engine continued...
The turbocharger airintake is wrong and has to go. I will have to model a new one, or better 2 pieces.
Then I drilled new holes for the injectors. At the same height as the "old" injectors, I will set the lines for the fuel and the feed line for the injection nozzles accordingly. Therefore 3 new holes here too.
The new injectors are hexagonal brass screws.
And then I need an ECU, it wasn't there. So print something again... just like the new brackets on the engine, which come from the rear suspension.

Re: WILLIAMS FW09 Dallas winner KAWAI+some more...
Can one of you guys help me with information about the brakes (front and rear).
Firstly, I find different pictures (1 or 2 saddle in front) and secondly, the pictures from the FW09 are not so helpful that I have ...
Maybe someone knows the version of the AP brake? or has reference pictures of it that would help me further.
Thanks in advance!!

I think Williams used steel brakes on street circuits and carbon brakes on other occacions.
Hope this helps a bit...
