Re: WILLIAMS FW09 Dallas winner KAWAI+some more...
A small update on the subject of rear suspension, ECU and engine.
The upper rear wishbones were pre-assembled and the mountings for the shock absorbers were attached.
I have now assembled the rear suspension for the first time. I was surprised that everything fits so well. Only the lower bracket for the shock absorbers does not fit. Here I had forgotten that by changing the upper wishbones, the decency was no longer appropriate. So everything apart again and then saw the bracket. But it was relatively easy to put it back together and I am satisfied. The shock absorbers fit perfectly into the tight gap on the gearbox.
I continued to put the engine together. The generator was attached in the middle. A control unit attached - this is where the wiring to the ECU comes in. Then the generator was connected to the alternator. Here I used 0.5mm tape in black.
The injectors were attached, just like the fuel pump (I think it's a pump or a filter). Here, too, everything was further wired. I couldn't leave the fuel lines as planned - much too thick! So again rescheduled and slightly adjusted. I think it's right now.
I also attached the transmission of the throttle cable to the engine.
I wired the ECU, the control units were attached beforehand and connected with a PE part (metal clamp). A little shrink tubing to simulate the connections.
The next construction site is the intake up to the radiators.
Then I still need a shift linkage on the gearbox.
The pump on the oil tank still needs to be adjusted, wired and installed.
So it remains exciting and continues...

Thank you very much, I hope you all enjoy reading and following.
It may not be that easy to understand or see what has been done sometimes, but I don't want to write too much either. And I think a lot of people are always familiar with the FW07 and FW11 kit and know what the parts looked like before the adjustments.

Hi Thomas,
You have done a very good job on creating all these scratch built parts. It is amazing that you almost recreated the whole car.
One minor comment, the spark plug wires seems a bit too thick.

Thank you for the comments, especially the criticism is welcome. Sometimes you become blind over time.
I looked at the diameter again. You're right the diameter could possibly be a little smaller. But I don't think so much. The ignition cables were really quite thick. I'll measure it and see if I can swap it.

Hi Thomas,
For scale work, sometime we have to apply a bit of artistic treatment to it. A white wire against a black background will also look thicker than a dark color one. This is just a visual effect on our minds. You may have to use a wire that is a little bit thinner than the scale down diameter to look right.
Hope this helps.

Yes, of course you're right. I made another small update. And chosen a 1/10 mm smaller diameter. Whether you recognize it - I don't know
The brakes are ready and the engine went on... Not much happened, but I'm happy with the results myself.

Hi Thomas,
Your brake calipers look so real. It is fantastic!
I can't tell the difference in the white wires. If the difference is 1/10mm it is difficult to pick out by naked eye without side-by-side comparison.
Anyway, the important thing is whether you like them or not.
