With the nights drawing in & the Temperature having dropped, I've re-started FW18.

I've been busy wrapping all relevant components in Carbon Fibre Decal.

Having completed roughly 98% of this I moved onto Diffuser modifications. Much like the front Wing end plates, the

Walls were extremely thick, looked absolutely huge & it weighed a Metric Tonne. As such there was plenty of scope for

material removal.

The vertical Tunnel inlets were also a little half hearted & just didn't look anywhere near accurate so the Walls were

shortened & now looks far more like the real thing.

Since this Pic was taken I've also thinned the Diffuser Foot/base plate down to a fraction of it's intial thickness.

I knew I'd achieved my target when I accidentally dropped the Tunnel, re-caught it in mid air, & stabbed myself, drawing

Blood on one of the corners. That's probably as good an answer as I could ever need!

I also shaped the leading edge of the Tunnel inlets with a nice Aerodynamic profile. I'm pretty certain the real thing doesn't

have this so it isn't needed, nor will it ever be seen, but I like it! :D

More updates "as & when", Thanks for looking.

Looking really good! In modelling, thinner is usually better so well worth the effort. And glad you perservered with the paint - came up very nicely in the end!

Thank you for commenting, I'm glad that you think it's coming along nicely. Much like FW15C It's a 1/20 Car I've wanted since I first saw the real thing, so after having waited such a long time I'm really trying to get it as close to perfection as I can. There will always be a few bits & pieces that could be improved, but I'm really trying to get each individual component as good as I can possibly make it.

Thank you. F1 doesn't really seem to have iconic liveries anymore, certainly nothing like JPS, Mar7b0r0 or Canon. A real shame.
