Body is now in it's pink under coat. I read and article many years ago about how Ferrari prepared bodies for the final Corsa Rossa paint. They used pink over the primer and then Italian red. I have always done this and it gives the red a real pop.

Re: 1/12th MFH Ferrari 250 GTO
Dave super build so far. I also heard about the pink primer. Never used it though. I guess I will have to soon. By the way, at the same time I recall that on later cars, when they wanted a more fluorescent red, they used an orange primer. I remember when I could still buy Dupont lacquer sealer/primer, they had a plethora of colors you could get.

Lovely work so far!
Pink primer is indeed a very good solution, I use the same method for every red car/bike.
What kind of clear are you using over the red coat?
Good luck!

Re: 1/12th MFH Ferrari 250 GTO
As is with most MFH kits one of the challenges is to get the metal body pieces to fit with resin. Fortunately on this kit the doors are resin. Another interesting piece are the metal windshield frames. They are much too thick and need a lot of filing and shaping. The front came out well, the rear not as good. I did not use the headlamp cover frames. They should have been etched.
Now on to the wire wheels

Looking nice Dave. Especially like the paint work on the body.
I wonder if the ill-fitting windshield frames could have been replaced with a scratch built item instead - a piece of Plastruct U channel perhaps?
Cheers, Paul

TY Paul, That is an option. I guess I could remove the frame since I used white glue.
Hope to see you in Oz next year.
