After much thinking (and following a moment of no thinking at all!  ) I joined the club of 99T owners 8)
It was at the Torrent AMT Contest-Fair, I saw it at standard price, it was a spanish shop, no shipping fees, I could take it (literally) under my arm an even I could pay thru Paypal! 8) 8)
So I grabbed it.
I can just confirm what others say: impressive kit (all 1/12 ARE), much Tamiya like even if a bit less crispy, famous ejector pins marks, yes that sidepod edge that yes seems easy to fix with sanding, and yes that strange cracks on the floor edges.
Now the sacrilegious thing, I am not that much a fan of the particular model, so I seriously ponder backdating it to a 98T (has been done at 1/20, so why not at 1/12!) or... er.... smething else I don´t dare to say yet (will refuse saying even under -moderate- torture!)
And last thing, please don´t tell my wife!!!

James, I hope you would consider designing/producing some Renault header covers, turbo bits and JPS decals. That would be more than satisfactory a conversion kit for me!

 I think you're onto something there, James. 98T would be stunning, or whatever devious plan you might be hatching.

James,
Your secret is safe with us!!!! ;-)
A 98T should be easy, just need lots of filler on the rear deck and nice new decals
I have a 1/20 80% finished!
Shameless excuse to post pic of same:-

Did MFH ever produce a 1/12 98T?

Some decal softener and a hairdryer helps to fit the decals on the Increased shapes of the monocoque.
The etched metal disc glues with glue vom Revell - contacta clear.
Not 100% perfect, for me its good enough.

Thanks Malc! :D I remember 99T--> 98T is a classic on this site, I mean one of those talking points. Yours looks excellent :D thanks for sharing.

haha  the other plan is theorethically different that is sacrilegious as I said  but for me the 98T would look more attractive once finished :D

Hehe thanks for the confidence. Honestly IMHO it´d have to be the full block as the Renault is a 90º V6 and the Honda a 72º one.
The decals, I´ve working on it for years, but yes it´s feasible. But yes who knows, a "light" transkit is not a bad idea. 8)
