This smells surprisingly like a GPL lineup... ? ;)
Yeah, that would be awesome. I'd have to get one of each. However, digressing as usual, I cannot decide which version Fezza i want, long nose but also coil of snake exhaust. Also Bandini over Amon... sigh. Both isn't an option.

Ha - yep - years ago I was very into the Grand Prix Legends game - to the point of even working with a team of others to do "mods" to improve the graphics and tracks. It also got me very interested in the 1967 F1 season - the cars, drivers etc. Having the cars from that season all in 1/12 would be really awesome.

Yeah, you are right. I thought the Tamiya was RA300 but it is the RA273. :)

HA! Same username, I believe? Oh well, I'm still involved with the gang although I haven't done anything since the '55 mod with the exception of the 908/3 cockpit for the '71 sportscars that may be released next (but I did that cockpit almost 10 years ago to the day lol). So we share some of the same history and also the same interest for those particular cars. Nice!

Excellent - yeah I was going by petrov back in those days; if you are familiar with "Monaco Rocks" I did 3d model additions/changes in that effort. Before that I had done work on the Monza start area as well. Been years since I have even loaded GPL though - kinda got out of the whole sim racing deal after a move and job change along with some health issues.

I am arriving late to the party again, but I have an excuse this time, my mind was wandering, try this for size, are you listening at Model Factory Hiro?:

The Honda RA300 was built by Lola using the Lola T90 Indianapolis monocoque tub with a tubular sub-frame replacing side sponsons engine and suspension supports,

Thus, it would be (I would think) a straight forward process to model the RA300 chassis back to the original Lola T90 (there are any number of T90 plans on the internet)

All (all - he says) that then has to be done is to model the suspension and wheels, a Ford V8 and the gearbox and you have Graham Hill’s 1966 Indianapolis winning car which if my memory serves, was know as the Red Ball Special. Jacky Stewart drove a similar car in that race and the T90 cars reappeared, with less success in subsequent races.

This would provide modelers with one of the cars in Graham Hill’s triple crown.

And there is more.

If you have a Lola T90 Ford V8 and gearbox, you have the engine and transmission of Jim Clark’s 1965 Indianapolis winner the Lotus 38, which must be one of the best looking cars of that period and the first winner of the "British Invasion" of Indianapolis.

What do you think Hiro San?

I agree! Would love to see a 1/12 kit of any Indy car. Lotus 56 would also be a good choice as they have already done this in 1/20.

Derek, I suppose some of us will find the RA273 (I had to check the code number, just figure!) close enough to the RA300!
Anyway, happy for those who will appreciate and buy! :D
