I think that is a very good guess. Could be something from 1967-68 also. P68 is red or maybe an Alfa t33/2 1968. Who knows without more clues. But Italian colors make me think Ferrari/Alfa.

F1tommy wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 5:58 pm The letters are red again so probably Italian. The tires are late 1960's early 1970's. I think it is either a 312 F1, 312P, 512S or M or an Alfa Romeo 1970 or 1971 T33/3.
That 908/3 style Alfa would be cool, is that the T33/3 Tom??
Yes that's the one. That car did pretty well winning 3 races in 1971 including the Targa, so it would be a good choice.
Agreed! Would fit in nicely with my 908/3's as a combatant. And a Ronnie Peterson car if I'm not mistaken. So would fit into my collection of RP cars nicely as well. Fingers crossed!!

To get you in the mood. A very high picture quality video from 1971 Targa Florio. Now watch they do a Lotus 72

Funny how glossy these old period cars are...

I have witnessed several modellers who claim that in the old(er) days the cars were not gloss at all! BS! Always check your references.

These generalisations will most likely apply to some but not ALL.

The most likely scenario is that the modeller in question does not have the ability to finish the model with a spotless finish...

Oh well, opens pants.. not for that! checks for money.. here we go again. That Alfa would go well with my early 1970s prototype thing... Not the '71 LM though... But then again, so would another 512 from that period. The Lotus would get a sigh of relief from me for that "not interested in" bit ;)

Clearly he is pulling one on us. That is of course a red balloon animal. I call it the "bicycle"
