May 8th.. I had never realized in these 40 years ! that it matches such a historical date.
I can believe it’s 40 years since that afternoon that I remember as if it were yesterday.
I hope Carlos or Charles give him a nice tribute tonight.

Even if I know this might sound inadequate confronted to life loss that is the important thing, what a great season we´d have seen between Gilles and Didier.

well James I don't formally know you ,but thanks for the shout out ( as the new kids call it ) for Gilles , I think we some some other Canadians on here who need to watch a few of our boy's races as they may be to young , anyway all good !

Yes mates, a privilege to ahve seen him racing.
Youngsters obviously have not, like us we haven´t seen Stewart o Clark.
It surprised me we had not the usual reminder in those days. And this was exactly the 40th anniversary of the fact. It almost passed me by, I remembered because a great journalist-photographer from Spain put it in his twitter.
I understand he´s a great pride to all Canadians! A hug to all.
