Interesting timing releasing this right on the heels of the release of the iconic 512S? It’s staggering to realize that it was only twenty-one years between the 166, and the 512S!

So very true, although you have to remember the 166 was a street car turned into a race car. The 512 was only race. Look at the jump in technology from 1940-1970. It truly is amazing, and without the assistance of computer design.

I received the 1/12th 166MM kit Tuesday !! and must say it is one of Hiro's best Ferrari kits in 1/12th scale. The rear end problem is partly caused by the construction of the kit body with the rear end hanging off a brace that pushes it up. Body is in two pieces, front and rear sections. The engine cover scoop is slightly too square but it looks like it can be sanded rounder to the correct and make perfect. The scoop might be slightly to narrow as it goes towards the windshield I also noticed. The body shape otherwise is very good IMO with some minor corrections needed. The rear bracing that holds up the rear bodywork will have to be adjusted so that the boot and rear end sit at more of an angle. This one is a must buy IMO if you love 1/12th scale.
