How fun would it be to do the morning commute in a Tipo 158?

I have been watching the build of this on the “Ant Anstead, Master Mechanic” tv show. His is built with an Alfa motor and mechanicals. It looks pretty cool. The series is down to the last couple of episodes, so I’m looking forward to seeing the final result.
The four building blocks of the Universe are fire, water, styrene and white-metal.

Seeing as this will have a MX5 engine, gearbox, brakes and suspension, it will have as much in common with an Alfa 158 as it will with a Ford T.
You might as well just paint an MX5 in red and put Alfa badges on it. Or buy a Peugeot 406 coupe and put a Ferrari 360 bodykit on it. Same effect, really.
Nah, as much as I would love to drive an Alfa 158/9 this is not it.

Well the thing is I love the idea. There are things I don't like - MX5 parts, fibreglass dashboard, the fake drumbrakes. But over all I like it. And 10k is not that much, what is that in real world money? ...
That aside, there's a guy on ytube who has built an old F1 style racer based on a Porsche Boxter. Last I heard he is now converting it to a Mercedes 12 cylinder engine. Plus I still haven't had time to finish the design for my Lotus 49 simulator tub...

Looks like fun.
But I don't think the Danish authorities would too...
We have some very strict ruling in DK. In reality anything not as delivered from a car factory will not get number plates on it. Period. Neighbour country Sweden has a lot less strict ruling afaik.
Anyway getting anything out of UK post Brexit is close to impossible or expensive or both!

Well pre-Brexit, you could, I believe, get a car registered here if had been registered and road legal in country of the EU - which the UK was at that time. Today you would not be able to legally drive this car on the road unless you would have it individually checked and approved. And that would be seriously expensive, but probably possible. Not sure how that would affect kit cars like the Super Performance GT40s or Lotus 7 kitcars from Blighty.
Cheers,
