Re: What is your latest model purchase
I just paid for FedEx shipping from HLJ for my Platz NuNu 1/20 McLaren MP4/2C kit and detail packet. I was never a fan of Koke Rosberg, but I always liked the uniqueness of the yellow branded car. I haven’t found any Marlys for the kit yet, but maybe the kit comes with some yellow stock to cut the chevrons. Any thought on a Tamiya TS yellow that might work?

Re: What is your latest model purchase
I got one of those too! I also got an 09 Estoril YZR M1 last week from Yahoo Auctions. I have to say, I hate paying DHL prices, but I do like getting my stuff quickly (the sooner it sits on the pile).
Having taken a look at the Detail set, I have to say that i'm more impressed with how much that comes with that than I am the actual kit. 4 sheets of carbons to cover the entire car. Marlies, albeit, letter by letter. Some foil and an extra set of colored decals that they snuck a little cut line onto to make actual chevrons.
A cursory comparison suggests TS 47 Chrome Yellow is a close match to the decals (kind of stuck having to match the 2 decals color).
They molded on lines for the red or yellow areas. Not sure if i'm happy or sad about that. Easy to sand off but also should make masking easier. And if you go TS 36, its going to build a seam anyway, so.....it's up to the builder.

I don't have it in hand but I jumped on a 1/12 Ferrari 312t4 on ebay it was listed at a buy it now with ThunderValley wheel set, Trimonium PE, new decals replacement indycals, and indycals 3d brake ducts. Buy it now was only $200 for the package, could not let it go at that price.

Oh nice. Got that baby in my pile as well, minus the TV and Tremonia PE. I'd be interested to hear your opinion on the Tremonia PE. I've seen that several times and I believe there is one for the 312T as well. And since the SMS kit seems to be scarcely available, if at all, this might be the next best thing...cbk57 wrote:I don't have it in hand but I jumped on a 1/12 Ferrari 312t4 on ebay it was listed at a buy it now with ThunderValley wheel set, Trimonium PE, new decals replacement indycals, and indycals 3d brake ducts. I have been too busy restoring my 1971 Datsun 240z to buy any model kits.

Re: What is your latest model purchase
The only kit I purchased this year, was the new Tamiya 1/12 Porsche 934 Vaillant. Will eventually look great next to the 935 and Jaegermeister 934.
I think I sold off about 35-40 kits.
