312T4 replacement decals

Post by accuracing »

Hi everyone.

I'm working on another T4 for a client and decals needed replacement.
Ordered from Ebay a few sheets of Chinese made decals.
Just received them and the verdict is not that good.

White ink is not saturated enough and resulting surface is not smooth, Even with double layers, end result is not great.

So, if you are considering those, keep that option only if nothing else is available.

Anyone knows a better product readily available?

As well as Indycals, Tabu Design and Studio 27 have both made replacements sheets.

I'd try the Indycals they are really nice decals and the service is top notch

If that is the Tamiya T4 call 1800 TamiyaA . They have a large file of decal sheets for kits new and old.

I got those same Chinese decals but thankfully only needed to use the Michelins on the rear wing. I was MORE than impressed with Tamiyas decals from their last re-release. I would fully recommend those if you can find them. The white bits are all good and thick and had NO bleed through. They took 5 minutes to soak, but they came out great.

Thanks everyone

Hunting for the reissued Tamiya sheet is probably the best idea.
I know that those were made by Cartograf and that is always a sign of quality.

I' ll get in touch with my local distributor first to see what they can do.

Cheers!
