botched up some 1/43 decals, maybe you can help...

Post by Mr.Grumpy »

hi everyone,

i botched up a couple of 'FORD' decals for the DFV of the matra MS80 (1/43) that i'm working on. anyone have any in their spares box?

willing to trade either cash for decals and postage or a year's supply of good karma.

thanks if you can help.

botched up some 1/43 decals, WHO ELSE NEEDS DECALS?

Post by JamesB »

I might print some of them in my next bunch of decals, but given the usual communications/delay trouble with my decal supplier, it might take a month, to say the least...
Anyway if it helps...
That said, if someone needs something very particular and easy that they mixed up recently and keeps them with an unfinished model, please say logo and size; I mean some goodyear, elf, things like that, particularly -but not only- if you find it at www.brandsoftheworld.com - and I might order a purpose sheet... I promise very low cost, shipping and little more.
For instance, SteveNoble, the TAG-Heuer you'll need ;-)

Sorry, I don't have any extra to spare, but my solution years ago was to use rub on lettering that I found at a train shop. The font was close and very small. www.walters.com should have them, but then again its probably best to see them in person. I'll look up the manufacturer if you have a problem.

Another solution, actually a powder, that I've been looking for an excuse to buy is here, http://www.paper-paper.com/WhiteLetter-inst.html. Supposedly it will stick to the blacklettering on a injet or laser printer printout, apply heat and you end up with a white decal. If I sound confused, the web page will sort that out;)

Finally, Tameo does sell their decals separately, available through Grand Prix Models etc. One of their kits with the DFV should have the decals you are looking for. If you want I can check the sheet from my kits if need be.

Good luck!

Hello Grumpy!

Did you solve the problem? If not, I think I have some 1/43 spares. I'm not 100% sure but I think I have them.

Mr G and all the gang!!!
The decal printer has sent me the stuff -I've seen the USPS code- this monday. So decals are suposed to arrive this friday or next monday.
Since in the meantime my regular PC has given up the ghost and the HD keeps its info till some of my CSI employed colleagues can break the seal, it'd be a sound move that all those having comissioned their decal sets send me a pm with what they had to be sent and their adresses. I remember almost everything -not adresses, sure!- but I'd prefer to be sure...
Regards

Mr G,

I assume that is the SRC kit.

I am in touch with Colin Baxter who still has all the spare decals at home and can get you a set if you need them.
