Model Factory Hiro Lotus 49 Dutch GP Jim Clark 1/43
This week I start my build of this MFH Lotus 49. It will be my first MFH kit and I'm very excited to build this. Still in the process of thinking how to improve some parts of this high standard kit. Well, to begin here's what you get in the kit.

I started cleaning up the different White Metal parts. It's tedious job. You have to clean a lot of moldseams and sometimes a little flash, but that's okay.
First dryfit...
I opened the nacaduct and replaced the bottom with a small brass plate shaped to fit .
I wasn't happy with the white metal steeringrach, so I decided to scratchbuild one from nickelsilver tube and brass rod. The PE parts are from the kit.

In those macro pictures the parts don't look impressive.
However if you have those tiny bits in your hand they look quite good.
I complained about the price of the Hiro 1:43 kits when they started making them but couldn't resist buying a few over time of course.
Some of the white metal parts are very impressive. Better/more delicate than Tameo...
In any case i'm sure you'll make the result look great!

Nice to see a MFH 1/43 being built....like Jaykay, I have several, but they look a bit daunting compared to my usual Tameo TMK series builds.
Your macro photos are great, although as Jaykay also said, they pick up every little imperfection and make the kit parts look (perhaps) worse than they are. With that said, you have done a VERY nice job on the new steering rack. Looking forward to seeing this build progress.
Keep up the good work!
Cheers

Looking forward how this build is coming out as I will be buying this kit also. I have a plan to build the mainstream cars from "class of 1967".
