Great collection of Brabhams!
Builds like this one are great to see. Building multiple models in parallel with lots of custom parts, using custom decals, in a small scale like 1:43... That requires skills and a lot of effort!
THE CHESSINGTON POST (memories of a Brabham builder)
Re: THE CHESSINGTON POST (memories of a Brabham builder)
Thanks guys!
Models finished and home safe
Very soon the saga continues... More BT53 (like the strange Dallas one or the Santal presentation car), BT54 and BT56. Maybe some BT52 will add to the group...

Dear James,
Would you perhaps consider selling BT53 bodies and decals?
Thanks for the reply.

Yes Harry, it´s an idea... though I´d like to go a little further on it, addinf some photo etch and.... Boom!!! FULL KIT!
Building the front suspension was a real nightmare, so a well developed self folding PE assembly would be a great idea...

Hi James, great to see this post reactivated! Once you are steaming down the Brabham straight, would look forward to see the BT56 feature here as well!

Re: THE CHESSINGTON POST (memories of a Brabham builder)
Thanks James.
Maybe I can help designing the PE suspension and another part or two.
Tameo's BT53 is an old kit without PE so it would be good to have custom designed parts:
- Wings (resin main elements, PE endplates and minor elements, quite elaborate on the BT53)
- Steering wheel centre (if it makes sense)
- Radiators for the early version (to be glued to the resin block to gain thickness)
- Top sidepod grille
- Suspension (maybe top and bottom wishbone and upright all-in-one, to be folded, like on some Tameos)
- Brakes
- Seat belts
- Some small stuff
Or something like that...so that not much has to be sourced aftermarket.
The differential, gearbox, turbo, rear view mirrors, uprights (if necessary) can be resin. Chassis top (dashboard) and floor probably as well.
That leaves the turned parts...gear lever, wheels, exhaust pipes, as well as the tyres.
Driveshafts, pullrods, steering rods and rear wing cross-braces are just different wires.
It would be cool to have the windshield in transparent blue vac-formed plastic.
