After almost a year without progress I am back on this project.
At first I want you to show, how the undertray looks now:
I might try to make it smoother later.
In the last few days I was working on the frontwing. I have drilled holes into the nose and into the upper wing element to connect them with a thin brass wire which was left from a Tameo kit:
The next task will be to change the rearwing support to move the rearwing further back. I have not decided yet how I am going to replace the support. Any suggestions are welcome!
And at last I got S27s photoetched parts for the 102B which will be a great improvement for the front and rearwing ending plates. Many thanks to robby from Icaro hobbies for the PE parts!
That's it for now. I hope to post the next update sooner then this one. *g*

My progress on this model is really slow, because there are so many things I have to do appart from modeling. Anyhow, I have now finished the new rearwing support:
At first I removed the molded rivets on the old rearwing support and drilled holes with a size of 0,5 mm instead.
Then I sanded the part away which connects the gearbox with the rearwingsupport:
In order to add the new rearwing support the old one was sanded away. I had to be very carefull to keep the connectorparts in a good shape:
The next step was to glue the new part into position and to fix it with a little piece of plasticcard from the other side. Then I drilled new holes and added MFH rivets. Here is the result:
Currently I am working on the seat. I have removed the molded seatbelts and have filled the resulting scratches with putty. The most difficult changes are made now. Only a few minor things are missing. I hope that I can finish the car this year.

Re: Another Lotus 102
Hi all!
In the last few days I got some more progress on my Lotus.
Last sunday I have asked for a thin styrene sheet in this thread:
http://www.f1m.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... 85&start=0
I needed this thin styrene for the ending plates on the front wing.
I finally went the way JamesB (thank you James! ) suggested and bought some ice creme.
The styrene of the tray was cutted in strips and placed on a few items I needed to give the styrene the right form while heating:
For the edge where the flat part ends I needed something to produce some pressure on the styrene while heating it with the fan:
After a few attemps I got some strips which had this shape
In order to continue I had to sand the original ending plates down until they became as thin as possible without the danger of breaking them:
They were glued onto the styrene strips as you can see on this picture:
To give the extension a bit more stability a second curved styrene piece was glued onto the first one:
Finally the styrene was cutted into the right size and the holes for the connection to the front wing had to be redrilled.
That's it, so far:
